History
The church was planted in 1998 by a team from the Dream Center in Los Angeles, while the leadership, including the Pastor was from Victory Family Centre in Singapore. Pastor Tony Fuimano and his wife came as mission Pastors with a group of young people from the U.S. They started out with a Children’s Program on Semawata Rd and then had their first Sunday Service at the Vima Centre location in 1998.
In 1999 the majority of the team returned to States except for missionary Kerry Walker who stayed behind to help out for about another year. Pastor Tony and his wife decided to return to Singapore and are now back in their home country of Tonga.
The church was handed over to the current Pastor, Darryl Woodson. Darryl took the church in 1999 and has continued as Senior Pastor ever since. The church has seen steady growth every year since its beginning, going from one Sunday Service to three and finally out growing its old building, today they meet in their present location in the Dream Centre next to the Old location in Vima Centre.
The Dream Centre was a dream that church should not be a place that opens its doors only on Sunday. VCC Ntinda believes in the concept of being a church that never sleeps and never shuts its doors. Today the sanctuary of VCC Ntinda is actually a basketball court.
The entire building was built around this concept of being a true community centre for everyone, with facilities for the young and the older. Spiritual enrichment, sports, drama, education and outreach is why the Dream Centre exists. Though the dream is yet to be completed it is being completed month by month by faithful donors and the church body. The dream is coming to pass and we thank God for all His provision thus far. |
